Clinic History

The Richland Medical Center was built in 1962. The new clinic in 1962 combined the successful medical practices of two local clinics serving the Richland Center area. The clinic staff was comprised of five physicians from two separate clinics. Dr.Taft and Dr. Spear from one clinic and Dr. Housner, Dr. Pippin and Dr. Parke from the other.

In 1965, they were joined by Dr. Meyer and Dr. Kelertas. In 1967, RMC welcomed the addition of The Edwards' Clinic, also of Richland Center. This brought Dr. Edwards Sr. and his son Dr. Richard Edwards, Dr. Glise and Dr. Tydrich.

Today, Richland Medical Center is located in the same building as the Richland Hospital. The clinic can provide services that surpass many which are twice its size. Richland Medical Center offers physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants for our patients including full time specialists and specialists rotating from outside facilities from both the Madison and LaCrosse areas.

Spring of 2007, the Center Creek Professional building was opened. This houses Richland Medical Center’s MRI services and the Geriatric Center as well as leased space for dental and dialysis services.

We have strong community ties and sponsor many annual and charitable events. The physicians and staff of the Richland Medical Center are often visible at these events alongside their families and friends.
